PlayWell is building a flexible event-based team of Wellness Specialists and Station Assistants to support community sports events across Greater Houston.
PlayWell MVP roles are contractor-based. Assignments are event-based and not guaranteed.
Two Ways to Support Game Day
Wellness Specialist
$45/hr
Station Assistant
$20/hr
For larger or more complex events, PlayWell may add additional Wellness Specialists or Station Assistants based on event size, duration, attendance, setup needs, heat conditions, and sponsor requirements.
RELIABLE, COMMUNITY-CENTERED PEOPLE.
Wellness Specialists
- Registered Nurses (RN)
- Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN)
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), where applicable
- Current First Aid certification
- Current CPR/AED certification
Station Assistants
Helpful backgrounds may include:
- Community event experience
- Youth sports experience
- Event staffing experience
- Coaching experience
- Childcare or youth-program experience
- Operations or logistics experience

- Reliable and professional
- Comfortable supporting community sports events
- Clear communication
- Able to follow PlayWell checklists and field standards
- Understands and follows defined role and service boundaries
- Comfortable working in outdoor and community sports environments
- Willing to complete required documentation
- Able to follow notification and escalation procedures
- Committed to participant and family safety
Ready before the first shift.
Wellness Specialists must maintain current PlayWell-approved First Aid and CPR/AED certifications before accepting Coverage assignments.
Applicants who do not currently meet PlayWell’s certification requirements may still express interest but must complete required approved certifications before accepting a Wellness Specialist assignment.
Support toward your certifications.
If a Wellness Specialist needs to obtain an approved First Aid or CPR/AED certification to meet PlayWell requirements, the individual initially covers the certification cost. After completing five PlayWell Coverage shifts, eligible Wellness Specialists may receive reimbursement for approved certification costs, subject to PlayWell’s reimbursement policy and limits.
Wellness Specialists who join PlayWell with existing qualifying certifications become eligible for support toward their next required renewal after completing five Coverage shifts, subject to PlayWell policy.
