Questions

RESPOND Station FAQs

What does a RESPOND Station provide?
A staffed PlayWell support point with hydration and cooling resources, organized readiness supplies, basic first-aid support within assigned scope, emergency recognition and escalation, and documentation.
Who staffs a Station?
PlayWell assigns the appropriate qualified professional based on the event and our approved staffing framework. Depending on the assignment, this may be an athletic trainer or a nurse. A Station Assistant may provide nonclinical operational support when the accepted staffing plan includes one.
Is a Station medical coverage?
A Station is not automatically comprehensive medical coverage. It is not emergency medical services, not a clinic, and it does not replace coverage required by an organizer, venue, or governing body. Assigned licensed professionals operate within their credential and assignment.
What happens in an emergency?
Station staff recognize and escalate — including activating emergency services and notifying the organizer — within their assigned role and scope.
Are bottled water, sports drinks, snacks, or fruit included?
Not automatically. Those are only included when they are specifically scoped into the accepted setup.
Can a Station be indoors and outdoors?
Yes. PlayWell-branded setups are used in both indoor and outdoor venues.
What kinds of activities can a Station support?
Games, tournaments, races, camps, practices, field days, and other sports and recreation activity days.
Can we have more than one Station?
Yes, depending on venue layout, activity areas, and PlayWell capacity. Share your setup in Get Started.
Can a partner fund a Station for our community?
Sometimes. Through our partnership with Players Philanthropy Fund, the PlayWell Community Access Program expands PlayWell services to underserved communities, subject to available funding and fit.
